Macao to participate in China int'l investment, trade fair

Macao will set up its pavilion in the 12th China International fair for Investment and Trade showcasing the city's business opportunities to entrepreneurs from around the world, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institution announced on Friday.

Aside from the Macao Pavilion, the IPIM will also introduce the upcoming Macao International Trade and Investment Fair that will be held in October, and organize local entrepreneurs to participate in the annual CIFIT.

CIFIT, to be held in Xiamen of China's Fujian province from Sept.8 to 11, is sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce and organized by Fujian provincial government and Xiamen municipal government.

CIFIT is currently China's only nationwide international investment promotion event aimed at promoting two-way investment. It's also presently the world's largest international investment promotion event.

The organizer said that more than 500 delegations from 120 countries and regions will attend this year's CIFIT, and both the amounts of visitors and exhibitors are expected to make a new record.

The Macao business delegation will left for Xiamen in Sept. 7 at the earliest, according to the IPIM.
