First Paralympic team arrives in Beijing

On August 14, at 17 pm, flight VV181 arrived in Beijing Capital International Airport, bringing the first Paralympic team from the Ukraine. The Ukrainian Paralympic team has 78 people in all, including athletes who will compete in swimming, table tennis, seated volleyball, weightlifting and officers. More than ten of them are using wheelchairs.

When waiting in baggage claim, members of the Ukrainian team received smile wristlets as well as warm wishes in Beijing to win gold medals from volunteers, they gave many thanks in return. One of the athletes not only helped one blind athlete put on the smile wristlet immediately, but also told him it is an ambassador of friendship. That deeply moved volunteers who saw the scene.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation spoke highly of the volunteers' zealous and friendly services; and expressed their satisfaction with the fluid and convenient airport facilities when they finished all procedures and prepared to leave the airport.
