Internet lounges and Lenovo PCs attract athletes

Fierce competition at the Olympic Games has attracted TV audiences from all over the world - and the athletes themselves staying in the Olympic Village.

At the Lenovo Internet Lounges in the Village athletes no longer sit at random seats and browse the Web. They are now more selective. They hope to find a seat that also provides a good view of a television so they can see both the Internet and live broadcasts.

The lounge also has TVs, but its number of seats doesn't meet demand. Athletes treasure the two hours each can stay.

It explains the head bob going on - they raise their heads to watch TV for a moment, then lower them to type a few more lines of their emails.

Athletes not only love to go to the Lenovo Internet lounges, but are also fond of the Lenovo Yang Tian computers.

Cuban athletes are among those who frequently visit the Lenovo lounges.

Cuban women's volleyball players, boxers and top runners come and chat online with family members back home or do their daily business work in the lounge.

One Cuban woman athlete popped a question to the service staff at the lounge: "I want to buy this computer - how?"

She learned that as a worldwide Olympic Partner , exclusively providing computers to the Beijing Olympic Games, Lenovo has four Internet lounges in the Village in Beijing - but no sales shop.

Besides the Lenovo Yang Tian computer used in the lounges are designed for small- and medium-sized enterprises. Consumers praise its high quality, but it is rarely sold to individual users.

With the help of a volunteer who speaks Spanish, a Lenovo staff member recommended two options to buy the computer - log on the company website of Lenovo or to go to the Lenovo Showcase at the Olympic Green where visitors are able to experience various Lenovo products and know how to buy one.
